Electric muscle stimulation (EMS) uses a mild, comfortable electrical current — most patients describe it as a gentle tingling or fluttering — to reach muscles that are stuck in spasm, guarded, or simply worn out from doing a job they were never designed to do.
We use it for a few practical reasons: to calm muscle spasm and ease pain, to reduce inflammation in an acute injury, and to help re-educate muscles so they support — rather than fight — the correction your adjustment made. A tight, guarded muscle can pull a freshly adjusted joint right back where it was; a relaxed one lets the correction hold.
Sessions are short and typically paired with your adjustment. Like every tool here, it’s used when your plan calls for it — not as a one-size-fits-all routine.
If we do not think we can help you, we will refund the entire cost of the visit. That is how confident we are in being honest with you about whether we are the right fit.
